Practice Fees

At the Gold Coast Heart Centre we aim to ensure all patients are advised of any and all costs likely to be incurred for consultation and medical procedures.   All of our Cardiologists have individual fee structures of which you will be advised of at the time of booking an appointment.

We require payment in full on the day you attend the practice, for all consultations and testing procedures.  You are then able to claim your Medicare rebate which is 85% of the fee charged to you.  The fees that Medicare pay are devised by the Australian Government and reviewed annually.

We accept all forms of payment except Amex and Diners Club.

In Hospital Services

All Cardiologists at the Gold Coast Heart Centre participate in the ‘No Gap Scheme’ where offered by private health funds.  If you are in top hospital cover with a Health Fund offering this scheme, generally all fees incurred for in hospital services will be paid by your Health Fund.  In this case you will not receive an invoice from the Doctor.

However, not all private health funds offer this service and where this applies, the account will be sent directly to you, the patient.  We request payment on receipt of the invoice; you can then take your invoice and receipt into Medicare who will reimburse you 75% of the fee charged.  In some instances, you may then be able to claim a portion from your Health Fund as well.
